Modern Jazz Quartet
A great honor for us was to host the Modern Jazz Quartet, with their famously jolly pianist John Lewis (on my left) and vibraphonist Milt Jackson. Discovering our shared passion for Django Reinhardt, Lewis and I had plenty to talk about. (I told him about how my choice of Reinhardts "Nuages" was what had gotten me admitted to the conservatory in Cologne.
Eric Mouquet of Deep Forest
an amazing musician and very pleasant company. One of his most outstanding vocalists was Marta Sebestyen, who we got to know in Budapest and who would later become the music teacher to our son Milan, who now lives in Berlin making music and other messes.
A husky Bonnie Tyler tells me Amadeus is her favorite place, not only in Hungary.
